Sarah Saltmarsh

Dr. Sarah Schmaltz Saltmarsh serves as a Senior Transformation Specialist with US PREP. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science from University of North Dakota. Sarah began her career in education as a classroom teacher, where she developed a deep commitment to supporting educators. Over time, she expanded her impact through roles as an instructional coach, campus administrator, university faculty member, and professional development facilitator. Across these positions, she focused on helping educators refine their practice, use student data to inform instruction, and build collaborative school cultures that support continuous improvement.

Sarah also leads the development and implementation of the Texas Mentorship Training (TMT). Through this work, she collaborates with district leaders, advisory committees, and pilot school systems across Texas to design high-quality training that equips mentors to effectively support novice teachers. Her work centers on translating research into practical tools and learning experiences that help mentors build trusting relationships, provide meaningful coaching, and support new teachers during their most critical early years in the classroom.

Known for her collaborative and grounded leadership style, Sarah brings both thoughtfulness and clarity to the teams and partnerships she supports. Partners value her ability to listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and create space for diverse perspectives while still moving work forward with purpose. She approaches complex challenges with humility, curiosity, and a strong belief that the best solutions are built together. Sarah holds a deep respect for educators and leaders in the field and is committed to ensuring that the systems she helps design are practical, sustainable, and centered on the people doing the work every day.

Sarah lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband. Together they enjoy attending concerts, discovering street art, dining at new restaurants, and traveling with their two dogs.
