Sarah Beal

Dr. Sarah Beal began her career as a classroom math teacher and later served as a math instructional coach, providing one-on-one support to teachers, leading professional development on math problem solving, and facilitating data-driven teacher collaboration through professional learning communities. She also prepared new teachers and supported early-career educators at the university level. Since 2015, she has been the Executive Director of the US PREP National Center, which works nationwide with school districts, state agencies, and diverse funders to strengthen strategic staffing, improve the use of high-quality instructional materials, and prepare effective teachers. Under her leadership, US PREP has also played a major role in advocacy, shaping policies that expand access to excellent teaching for all students, especially those historically underserved. Sarah holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation, a Master’s in Educational Mathematics, and a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts. Sarah and her husband Cory have two teenagers, Max and Addison. Sarah is the Committee Chair for Young Life and also serves as a trustee on her church board. Since 2012, Sarah and Cory have been volunteer marriage mentors where they get to partner alongside struggling marriages. In her free time, Sarah and her family enjoy traveling and spending time with their sheepadoodle, Zoey.
