Rodney Jones 


Rodney Jones is a Transformation Specialist at US PREP. In this role, Rodney works alongside university leadership teams and their PK–12 partners to support the transformation of educator preparation programs. His work includes virtual and on-the-ground partnership support, co-planning and delivering professional learning, guiding implementation efforts, and helping partners build systems that strengthen teacher preparation and better serve all students. Rodney believes in leading with kindness and in building the kind of trust, collaboration, and follow-through that make meaningful change possible.


Rodney has served in a variety of roles across his career in education. He began as a middle school teacher and later served in campus leadership and district leadership roles, including work as a district Coordinator for Advanced Academics in Austin and Keller, Texas. He has also supported large-scale program implementation as Senior Director with College Board and most recently served as Executive Director in the ed-tech startup environment, where he partnered with schools and districts to support implementation, continuous improvement, and long-term success. Across these experiences, Rodney has remained committed to helping educators and leaders turn ambitious goals into practical, sustainable action.


Rodney earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development with a concentration in Elementary Education from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership from Tarleton State University.



Rodney lives in Houston with his husband and their two cats. Outside of work, he is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, group fitness coach, and longtime dance fitness instructor who enjoys helping others feel strong, confident, and energized.
