Mikayla Acevedo
Mikayla was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and her Master of Arts in Mass Communications from Texas Tech University. A proud Red Raider, Mikayla is currently pursuing her second master’s degree, a Master of Science in Sport Management, and plans to continue her education by earning a Ph.D.
Mikayla began working for Texas Tech University in 2021 as a Teaching Assistant in the College of Media and Communication. In the fall of 2022, she joined the Texas Tech Graduate School as a Senior Evaluator, where she gained valuable experience supporting graduate education, before transitioning into her current role with the US PREP National Center.
Outside of work, Mikayla loves to travel and has visited England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, and The Netherlands, as well as 18 states across the U.S. Family is very important to her, and she enjoys spending time with her three miniature dachshunds — Lili, Emmi, and Jett.
