US PREP Welcomes Eight New Colleges of Education Committed to Transformation

US PREP is proud to announce the addition of eight new Colleges of Education to the US PREP coalition.  Following a rigorous three-month interview and selection process, these eight new providers will join the ranks of twelve other provider institutions committed to disrupting inequities in PK-12 districts by renewing their own teacher preparation programs. US PREP welcomes the following new universities and district partners:

  • McNeese State University – Lake Charles, LA

  • Portland State University – Portland, OR

  • Tarleton State University – Stephenville, TX

  • Texas A&M – Commerce – Commerce, TX

  • Texas State University – San Marcos, TX

  • Touro University California – Vallejo, CA

  • University of Houston – Downtown – Houston, TX

  • University of Texas – Permian Basin – Odessa, TX

  • A “to be announced” university in early February, 2020

University providers in US PREP commit to renewing their teacher preparation programs by implementing rigorous quality objectives aligned to the US PREP Developmental Framework and rooted in evidence-based practices that ensure candidate preparedness and PK-12 student success beginning on the first day of instruction.

Over a three-year transformation process, universities will pilot, refine, and scale the quality objectives across all pathways and programs.  To learn more about the model and the evidence of impact, click here.
