An Innovative Approach to Co-Teaching: Integrating Residents into a Data Driven School Culture to Promote Sustainability of Paid Residency

At Creekview Elementary in College Station ISD, they believe in three things: 1. Focus on Results 2. Collaborative Culture and 3. ALL students will learn. By partnering with A&M University, school leaders at Creekview Elementary have been able to integrate year-long teacher residents into this data driven school culture via a flexible co-teaching model where residents have become acting members of PLCS and are assigned mixed groupings across grade level classrooms to provide intervention to. Mentor teachers help set up intervention schedules using data and determine how their residents can best be utilized to support the learning of all students in the grade level. Learn more about how Creekview Elementary is using this flexible co-teaching model to increase student achievement at their campus via paid residency.
