The University of Houston - Victoria (UHV) educator preparation program located southwest of Houston, TX has a mission to provide an excellent educational experience to learners enrolled in programs offered. The faculty, through their teaching, research and service, is committed to preparing highly qualified professionals for their chosen careers in teaching.
As a result of this commitment and mission, UHV joined the US PREP coalition and began the process of transforming their teacher preparation program pathways to a yearlong teacher residency. With a focus on robust yearlong clinical experiences under the direction of a highly effective mentor teacher, university-based Site Coordinators that complete observation & coaching cycles and lead district governance, to data practices that support informed decision-making for candidates and partnerships alike, the UHV team is championing high-quality preparation through their actions.
