    Nicole Aveni

    Nicole Aveni serves as a Regional Transformation Specialist (RTS) for US PREP. She works directly with universities and their district partners to support all aspects of teacher preparation program transformation. Nicole is passionate about grounding transformation efforts in district/community needs and through strong university-school partnerships. As an RTS, she works with deans and leadership teams to create and implement strategic goals and plans for improvement.

    Nicole’s career in education began as a teacher candidate in Arizona State University’s PDS program in the Osborn School District. She continued to teach in the district and later served in leadership roles, such as mentor and master teacher. Nicole’s personal experience as a teacher candidate, mentor teacher, and master teacher in Osborn led her to become a Site Coordinator. As a Site Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor for ASU’s Accelerated Master’s and Certification program, Nicole experienced the power and impact of shared governance in developing high-quality educator preparation based on district needs.  

    Nicole holds a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Arizona State University, a Master of Early Childhood Education degree from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Arts Elementary Education degree from Arizona State University.

    Nicole and her family live in Phoenix, Arizona. They enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, baseball games, and small DIY projects at home.
