    Malissa Chavez-Thibault

    Dr. Malissa Chavez-Thibault is an Opportunity Culture Regional Transformation Specialist. In this role, Malissa partners with universities and districts to support critical elements of teacher preparation program transformation and Opportunity Culture principles. She provides virtual and on-the-ground support to school-university leaders in strategic planning, piloting, and data collection.

    Malissa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University, a Master’s Degree in School and Guidance Counseling from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University.

    Prior to joining US PREP, Malissa served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and supported several higher education grant initiatives focused on improving teacher practice and increasing student achievement for all learners.

    Malissa lives in Arizona with her husband, two daughters, and a dog. Together they enjoy hiking, road trips, and watching Disney movies.
