    JoAnna Duncan


    JoAnna Duncan is a Regional Transformation Support Specialist focusing primarily on strategic staffing initiatives in partnership with universities and school district leaders. In this work, she supports teacher preparation providers and districts in their efforts to reimagine school, so that more students receive the excellent education they deserve from exceptional teachers. In her role, she provides virtual and on-the-ground support, co-plans and delivers professional development, and progress monitors strategic staffing design plans to ensure ambitious goals are met.

    Prior to joining US Prep, JoAnna served as the founding director of Breakthrough at Gregory-Lincoln, a national teaching fellowship and college access non-profit for traditionally underserved communities. Prior to that opportunity, JoAnna served in numerous school districts throughout Texas, in a variety of roles including Director of Academics, leadership coach, instructional coach and teacher. She began her work in education when she joined Teach for America and taught elementary students in Houston, Texas after graduating from the University of Florida. 

    JoAnna is passionate about inspiring the next generation of educators and providing pathways to increasing the number of people of color in the field. She enjoys traveling, trying new recipes and working out with her husband and Shih Tzu, Diggy.
